ADDIE and Souhegan High School

I took the initiative to create an online version of Souhegan High School's Course Catalog.

This was one of my first web build using the ADDIE process.

Analyze

01

Souhegan High School was publishing a 250 page course catalogs and then mailing these catalogs home to students and families. The time and money placed into the process was substantial.  I facilitated a meeting with the head of guidance and the registrar to brainstorm and develop the online version of their publication keeping the end users in mind.

Design

02

After defining and analyzing, I worked my way through various templates and designs for the catalog. The main interests of my clients was to maintain the organization of the paper form catalog. This made the wire framing process a little easier as I had a road map of how to organize information. I came up with a few templates and one was then approved by administration.

Develop

03

I set out to develop a streamlined and sleak catalog highlighting the diverse talents of the educational community. I achieved this by building a framework of navigation and design while keeping my clients' preferences in mind. I went through three iterations of the site as I kept testing my work with students and faculty.

Implement

04

The electronic course catalog was a success.  With a few simple clicks, you can access detailed information about each course, including descriptions, prerequisites, and more.

Evaluate.

05

I conducted a qualitative survey from students and staff. Most of the feedback was very positive as community members and faculty appreciated students images and accomplishments within the catalog. There were concerns about the organization of some of the electives that students had the opportunity to take.  Discussed at length was the potential to develop the catalog to have a shopping cart experience giving students the opportunity to add classes via a consumer styled purchasing portal.
